Alby came to California from Australia Sept 2009 and had planned to stay for a short 6 months and return home to Australia. Heather’s friend started dating a guy and she had told her that he had an Australian roommate that she should meet. Heather went with her friend to their house and when she walked in the door (it was 9 pm) she heard a guitar playing and the guy who was playing it was in board shorts, no shirt, no shoes and had dreads! Not really her “type”. HAHA! But it turns they hit it off that night and have been together ever since. Alby extended his trip another 6 months and then the dated long distance for 7 months!
Alby proposed on January 9 2013. They were on the island of Kauai. Alby took her to the beach Polihale and there was a beautiful sunset. He told her he wanted a picture of the two of them and he was using self timer on the camera. She thought nothing of this as they had done this plenty of times before. He set up the camera, ran down and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! It was so beautiful and the best day of their life!
What Heather loves about Alby… ” I love that he has made me a stronger person. Alby really inspires me to work hard for the things that I want. He makes me laugh and brings out the child in me. Alby cares for me in a way that no one has ever cared for me before. He really is my best friend and I know we will have a happy life together.”
What Alby loves about Heather… “She is very caring and makes me a better person. She likes to watch ice hockey with me and also takes an interest in the things I love. She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen!”
