From Sara:
“Brad and I have known each other for almost 10 years now. We met in college and it was one of those oh he’s cute moments, but we were just friends, although we always kept in touch someway or another. Flash forward a few years later and it’s 2009 and Brad convinced me to fly down to LA for New Years (not an easy task for someone as stubborn as me). I still remember flying down to LA for the first time like it was yesterday. I have never been so nervous in my entire life. Going down those terminal steps and seeing him there I instantly got butterflies and I knew right then that my life had changed forever. 4.5 years later, a few bumps in the road and a lot of growing up, Brad and I are now married. Looking back at our wedding a few things come to mind; from being ever so calm while getting ready with my bridesmaids, finding out bad news about my flower arrangements (took that terribly), crying when I finally got to hold hands with Brad, but not being able to see him, taking a shot of vodka with my dad before going down the aisle, squeezing Brad’s hands so hard at the alter because I was terrified of all the people, our first kiss as husband and wife, speeches, dancing, falling down, because jumping on the guy who caught the garter seemed like a brilliant idea, getting smacked in the eye with a glow stick later that night (thanks for the ice pack Andrea) and jumping in the pool in my wedding dress, and that’s just to name a few…. I can tell you with absolute certainty it was one of the best days of my life even when something went wrong and a few things did naturally and I wouldn’t change anything about it. For a year and half, I put every ounce of my heart and soul into planning the wedding of my dreams to marry the man of my dreams and it was worth all the bad days and all the good days and all the non-stop wedding talk. To all the future brides and I know this is easier said than done, try not to sweat the little things or even the big things. Enjoy every moment, because at the end of the day the only thing that matters is that you are married and that is the greatest feeling in the world.”
