Melissa and Michael first met on a dating app and had gone on some pretty bad dates by the time they met. As you might have guessed by their Rancho Palos Verdes Engagement photos, their first date redeemed the online experience and they were smitten with each other from the start. Melissa was instantly drawn to Michael’s profile because of a rant he posted about Batman. She knew after reading his profile that they would be a perfect match!
Their proposal happened on Michael’s birthday. Melissa tells this story so well so we will let her take it from here: “It was a Friday and I had gone to work that day like any normal day. I knew that we were going to his parent’s house for a birthday dinner but I had no idea that he had planned to propose. I left work early and decided to go and get ice cream with a co-worker because Michael told me he had to work late. I got home and opened the front door with my pint of melting ice cream and it was pitch black in our apartment. All I could see was an aisle of rose petals and hundreds of glowing tea lights. Michael was at the end of the petals wearing a suit and looking very handsome!! I remember saying, “but it’s your birthday!” and then he proposed to me, with just the two of us in the apartment (and the dog in the other room). It was very romantic and incredibly special! We then proceeded to go up to his parent’s house where both of our families were waiting and we shared the news with everyone!”
We are so excited for Figlewicz Photography to be part of Melissa and Michael’s wedding team and we look forward to sharing their wedding blog next June after their Hummingbird Nest Ranch Wedding. We hope you enjoy their Rancho Palos Verdes Engagement!
