Brandon and Julia are as sweet as can be…and their story is the icing on the cake!
“We were best friends in kindergarten at Seaside Elementary. Brandon’s mom used to watch me after school and we would play dates and go to each others birthday parties (we have pictures of us sitting together at Brandon’s 5th birthday). Then in the 4th grade, Brandon moved to a different part of Torrance so that he attended Torrance high while I went to South High. Then we “re-met” freshman year of college, in our second semester math class! We recognized each other and Brandon was the first one to “make a move.” We started as friends and grew closer, and the rest is history!”
On March 3rd, Julia went to Torrance Beach to take family photos with Brandon’s family. This was new because for the first time, Brandon’s mom wanted the girlfriends involved and in the pictures. The photographer broke up the group and started the couple pictures. Everyone, except Julia, knew that the sign for the big moment was photos on the lifeguard tower. After more photos on the strand, Brandon told Julia to close her eyes and he led her to the sand and faced her towards the water. “He started telling me how much he loved me and then told me to turn around. I turned around to see my family, his family and our friends all standing up on the esplanade holding signs that spelled out ‘Julia…will you marry me?'” She turned around and Brandon was down on one knee and she said YES!
