Hana and Jeff’s Malaga Cove Engagement was full of lots of smiles and some of our favorite portrait spots. We think one of the best parts of this couple is their love story so we will let the groom-to-be tell you all the details:
“You’d have to go back a good 14 years as we first met in high school in 2002. She doesn’t remember the first time I saw her, but I definitely do. It was for a Kiwin’s fundraiser at Narbonne High School on a weekend during our freshmen year. I was sitting with some of my friends when she walked in and it was like I couldn’t believe my eyes. And you know I’m not making this stuff up because I can still remember it so vividly. After some group activities, it came time for lunch, and I searched the crowd for her, but she was nowhere to be found. I had a sinking feeling in my heart that I would never see her again, but then I noticed that her purse was still there, so she must still be around (that’s how crazy I was for her already, remembering exactly what purse she was carrying with her).
Later I realized that we went to the same high school, so I made sure to become friends with her, or find who she hung out with so I could hang out with them too. We didn’t start dating right away however, it took a good year for me to find the courage to ask her out. She was my first real girlfriend and later turned out to be my true love. You’re probably wondering why I said “later.” Well, for reasons that I couldn’t comprehend at the time, I broke it off after six months. Now, the wonderful human being that she is, accepted this and still wanted to be friends after, which is probably crucial in our long journey back together. We both took separate paths in our lives, but remained friends throughout high school, college, and after. About 9 years after our time together, we found ourselves in a rare spot. The universes must’ve been aligned because we both realized we loved each other and couldn’t imagine being with anyone else.”
