Sunny ocean weddings make our hearts soar! Lisa and Luke’s King Harbor Yacht Club Wedding combined a stunning beach ceremony with a traditional, nautical reception. Any coule who chooses to wear Sperry Boat Shoes for their wedding is a Figlewicz favorite! We love this couple’s passion for the outdoors and how they tied this love into every moment of their wedding.
Here is Lisa and Luke’s love story:
A few weeks after Lisa had moved to Ohio for a new job, Luke approached Lisa one night at work while she was eating dinner outside on a picnic table. Although Luke made small talk the first night, the next evening at work he asked her if she wanted to grab a drink with him and a few of his friends later that week. Lisa said yes and Luke got her number. When it came time to grabbing drinks, Luke told Lisa all his friends bailed (a few months later she would find out that no one else was really invited that night!) but asked if she still wanted to go out. She agreed and they hit it off! The rest is history!
Their engagement happened after Easter sunrise service at Veteran’s Park in Redondo Beach. Lisa, Luke, her brother, and mom walked the long way home to Lisa’s mom’s house along the strand. It was a beautiful morning and Luke didn’t want to waste it. He took Lisa down by the water at Topaz while Lisa’s mom stayed up on the strand, Trav sneakily hung back as we walked to take pictures. Luke got down on one knee and Lisa said YES!
