When Casey and I first started dating (11 years ago, yikes) we were on Jr. High staff at our church… and it is so crazy that those kids are now old enough to be getting married!! Anne’s dad Jim Stewart was also a pastor at our church too. He is now the pastor at Journey Covenant in Redondo Beach. So when we got the call about Anne and Pete’s wedding we were really excited!! Anne and Pete met while they were in China teaching English! I am always amazed when people meet in random ways like that. It is so obvious that God planned it out perfectly. 😉 The proposal happened January 5, 2010 on the cliffs of Trumps National Golf Course. Anne had just left Pete in New York, after spending some time with his family and little did she know that he would be following her out to California just a few days after. She knew he was going to propose at some point but wow did he surprise her! She went walking with her best friend and up on one of the hills, Pete was standing so handsomely in his black suit with rose pedals leading the way and the ocean behind him. She ran to him and he said some very kind words. And with the sunset setting right behind them, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Of course she said yes!! And as you will see in these photos, she couldn’t wait any longer to marry him!
