SHAWN O’BRIEN’S 1959 CHEVY PARKWOOD STATION WAGON | SAN PEDRO PHOTOGRAPHERS

Shawn O’Brien guest writing for the figlewiczphoto blog.  My car had been chosen to be featured in a coffee table book featuring classic station wagons and I needed to get the photos in to the publisher, so I called Casey to see if he could shoot the photos.  Casey shot my wife Kenna’s maternity photos and baby photos of Cormac when he was born, and his work has always blown our minds with the quality and creativity.

So last weekend Kenna, Cormac, and I made the 175 mile drive south from Orcutt  to God’s Country (aka the South Bay).  It was pouring rain on the drive down, but Casey said there would be a break in the weather on Friday evening (you may not know but not only is Casey an insane photographer, he is an accurate weather man and surf forecaster).  I picked Casey up at his house around 4:30 Friday afternoon and we headed up to Royal Palms Beach in San Pedro to take advantage of the last hour of sunlight.  My only request was that any photo with me in it he had to make me look like Fabio, and from the photos I think it was mission accomplished.  The car is a 1959 Chevy Parkwood Station Wagon.  I am going to let the photos speak for themselves because they are so rad…  Thanks for the photos Casey!
