Ben and Kristen met at Sidelines Sports Bar in Arcata, CA. They were both watching a Lakers playoff game. Ben had a handlebar mustache and Kristen had long dreadlocks. It was a match made in heaven! They quickly realized they both LOVED snowboarding! They push each other on their snowboards and as a result they have learned many new tricks (and killed themselves along the way). They even planned their whole honeymoon around snowboarding in Switzerland and Austria. If they aren’t snowboarding they love live music (especially Phish shows), cooking together, and love to ride their bikes.
Ben proposed on May 18th (about 4 years after they started dating) on a 40 mile bike ride from Denver to Golden. They were on their way home and he kept “checking for directions.” They stopped on a bridge, overlooking a creek, and then Ben had to convince Kristen to get off her bike. Ben said, “lets take a picture,” so Kristen was like whatever, and then he got down and proposed. She was totally shocked.
These two are the most mellow and down to earth couple! I wish I could’ve seen them in all their glory that first day they met. Here is part 1 of Kristen and Ben’s wedding!
Kristen and Ben’s wedding was at one of my favorite venues! Kristen only looked at one venue and she knew the Smog Shoppe was the only place for their wedding. The amount of succulents grown there is incredible! It was a perfect backdrop for their ceremony and Ben’s dad gt to marry them. It was very sweet.
